 What great momentum we are building. The January meeting was so good. Our guest speaker was Fayette Thackston, CFP, with Thackston Financial Services. Fayette gave us a great education on Estate Planning. His topic was "Estate Planning: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You." He explained the three Hurt Factors: (1) No Estate Planning, (2) Do-It-Yourself Planning, and (3) Outdated Estate Planning. I believe we all left with some sort of "homework" to do or items to review. Fayette's passion for helping others is so evident in his presentation, discussion, and in answering questions. Representatives and guests asked very good questions and came away with more knowledge than they had at the beginning of the evening. I sure did. I am really looking forward to meeting Jeremy Soles at our February 11 Membership Meeting. Please see Andrea Carnes, Program Director, representing ChemTreat, Inc., report about Jeremy. His focus will be to teach self-protection tips and skills. How many times do we work late, or go shopping, and walk to the car by ourselves? Let's be prepared. Please join us for an important, "hands on" (if you want) training. We have additional exciting events coming our way and time is just flying by... Our March Membership meeting will be at "Center Stage" for a private EWI of Richmond tour. In April, Luck Stone Corporation will host us for a Firm Night. Firm Nights are when we have the monthly membership meeting at a firm's headquarters. Each Firm Night is different and it is a wonderful way to find out, first hand, what the Firm does and how it operates. In 2009, Luck Stone completed the renovation and building of the new Corporate Headquarters. Please remind your Executives about Firm Nights. It's a great night for the Executives to mix and mingle. June 12, 2010 is a SAVE THE DATE! EWI of Richmond will be hosting a "Women's Symposium" on Saturday, June 12. Our dynamic speaker is Lori Giovannoni Roper. Many EWI Representatives have heard "Lori G." at various Leadership Conferences & Annual Meetings teaching on many topics. Lori G. is a member of the EWI of Salt Lake City Chapter and travels all over the United States, speaking to EWI chapters and business conferences, as well as providing leadership training to small and large firms all over the United States.
